A bed bug is a type of insect which does not have wings, and it feeds on the blood of warm-blooded animals especially human beings. Bed bugs have different colors but they acquire a dark red color after feeding on human blood. Mainly, bedbugs are found in sofas, beds, mattresses, and other soft furnishings. Bed bugs love , and so they feed on people’s blood mostly at night. The host is attacked when he or she is asleep. Nowadays, bed bugs have become common both in public and private sheltering places. Remove clutters from your room and clean the infested garments and linens. There is a high probability that are bed bugs in the items found in a room infested with bed bugs. Remove all the personal items including blankets, electronics, and toys from the room. Bed linen and infested garments should also be removed from the room. Garments removed from the room should be cleaned using very hot water to get rid of any bed bugs or bed bugs’ eggs. A lot of care must be taken during the removal of the items to avoid transferring the bed bugs to other rooms.
Dresser drawers and bed frames should be dismantled. Cracks in pieces of furniture are used as hiding places by the bed bugs. In order to expose those hiding places, you need to dismantle bed frames and dresser drawers. Bed bugs hiding in the bed frames and dresser drawers should be killed using an insecticide or very hot water. To ensure that no bed bug is left on the dresser drawer and bed frames, you need to clean them thoroughly. Remove any fabric from the bed and also clean it. Covering the mattress prevents bed bugs from entering or leaving the mattress. Also, pull the dresser drawers away from the walls to expose any bed bugs hiding between the drawers and the walls.
Using cleaning materials, you should clean the infested area. Clean the area using a stiff brush. All bed bugs’ eggs will be removed when such a brush is used. Vacuum cleaning should be applied when cleaning the cracks and crevices on the furniture. Vacuum cleaning ensures that all particles are removed from the furniture crevices and cracks and hence an insecticide will reach any bed bugs there. A vacuum cleaner will pull any bed bugs available in the room.
An insecticide should be sprayed in the room and on the furniture. After the insecticide is sprayed, the room will be free of bed bugs. Use insecticides which are in liquid form. When removing bed bugs from your home, you need to follow the steps explained above.
